Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Laura studied engineering, and has been always interested in architectural projects, art and design. She started developing her love for visual arts in 1997 when she became part of Teresa Rojas art workshop, who is an accomplished visual artist in Saltillo, Mexico, experimenting with different materials and techniques.

In Canada, Laura has studied with Lydia Panart and Bianca Guna, in her search of new techniques and fresh ideas.
